We have a beautiful piece of land at the base of the Pisac archeological site. An existing building on site was fixed up for a kindergarten schoolhouse. A class of 20 assists our kindergarten this year, and we plan to offer grades 1 – 6 for the next school year.
We will produce educational material for use by other schools in Peru or any other schools who wish to teach a section on Andean life. We aim to serve as a pilot project to inspire other indigenous schools to follow this method with the goal of providing an exceptional high quality education with access to the most updated teaching advances while honoring and celebrating traditional ways of life.
Geographically we are located in an Inter Andean valley. The school is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Pisac, Peru at the base of the Pisac archeological site. We have been working in educational projects for the past 10 years. We are now ready to open a private school that offers an alternative education in the formation of free human beings with high self –esteem to children who would not economically have this opportunity. This pilot school will value, respect and promote Andean traditional culture. Waldorf philosophy shares a similar approach to life as indigenous Cosmo vision and encompasses our goal to educate individuals within the ideals of a culture of peace and solidarity while practicing the heritage of our ancestors: reciprocity.
